CONGRESS VENUE

The European Winter Meeting of the Econometric Society will take place at
Central European University. The university is situated in the heart of Budapest, the capital of Hungary, not far from the parliament building. The venue of the meeting is the Popper Room, located in CEU's Monument Building, a renovated 19th century palace designed by Mihaly Pollack, one of the most famous architects of Central and Eastern Europe. The Popper Room was named after Karl R. Popper (1902-1994), widely regarded as the greatest philosopher of science and critic of Marxism of the 20th century; his ideas, more than those of any single thinker, provided the spirit which led to the foundation of CEU.

If you come by taxi, ask for the fifth district, Nador street 9, the main entrance of CEU. If you come by public transportation, the metro stations at Deak Ter, Arany Janos utca and Kossuth ter are close to the university. After entering the Monument Building, take the stairs - on the left opposite the reception desk - to the first floor. You will find the Popper Room to the right.
