Fourth Annual Conference on Econometric Modelling for Africa
The University of the Witwatersrand is hosting a conference on Recent Trends in Econometric Modelling during July 1999.
The editors of Economic Modelling, Stephen Hall from the Imperial College in London, and Peter Pauly of the University of Toronto will provide keynote addresses. In addition, Angus Deaton of Princeton is likely to provide the third keynote address.
You are hereby invited to submit a draft of your working paper, or an abstract of the paper in the field of Econometric Modelling or Mathematical Economic Theory. While all papers will be considered, topics relevant to African development will receive close attention. You are of course more than welcome to make a note of the workshop dates should you wish to attend the meetings rather than present a paper. The emphasis at this conference/workshop will, like in the past, be on discussion and constructive criticism rather than the unilateral presentation of papers.
A final call for papers, together with a programme containing discussion topics, will be mailed to you in due course. The deadline for the submission of proposals is April 1, 1999.
The conference is scheduled for
July 7 to 9, 1999
