Econometrics and Operations Research (Dutch taught)

Econometrics aims at solving economic problems through a combination of mathematics, economics, statistics and applied informatics. The programme is therefore very broad. It covers all the areas mentioned. The program includes lectures as well as practical courses on the use of computers.

The foundation programme includes many mathematical subjects: Basic Mathematical Skills, Calculus, Linear Algebra and Introduction to Probability Calculation. In addition, there is room for a number of Economics subjects: Macroeconomics and Cost and Profit. The more specifically econometric subjects are, for instance, Introduction to Mathematical Economics and Introduction to Econometrics. After the foundation programme, students can opt for one of the four main subject areas: Econometrics, Operational Research, Econometrics and Mathematical Econometrics. The programme is completed in four years and concludes with a thesis and possibly a work placement.
