Master of Philosophy in Finance
Starting September 2008, we offer the Master of Philosophy in Finance. This is a two-year research master providing select, high quality education in the field of finance. It is part of a five-year PhD track, consisting of two years in the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and three years of PhD thesis research, which leads to a PhD in Finance degree.
The programme is run by the Duisenberg School of Finance and Tinbergen Institute.
The Duisenberg School of Finance is a public private partnership aimed at training high-quality human capital in the Netherlands and setting-up high-end fundamental research in Finance. The School is named after Willem Duisenberg, first president of the European Central Bank, who introduced the Euro.
The Tinbergen Institute is VU University Amsterdam's research school, set up by the economics faculties at VU University Amsterdam, Erasmus University Rotterdam and the University of Amsterdam. The Institute was founded in 1987 and named after Professor Jan Tinbergen, Dutch Nobel Prize laureate in economics in 1969. The Tinbergen Institute is located in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
