Internship
During the bachelor programme, there is an opportunity to do an internship. For an internship you can get 12 credits which can replace 12 credits in optional courses. In order to get those credits, the internship has to have a minimal duration of 320 hours. This equals a full time (40 hours a week) internship of 8 weeks.
How to find an internship?
There are several ways to find an internship. You can send the organization of your choice a letter or email with the request to do an internship. Contact by telephone in advance is highly recommended. By telephone, you can collect information about possible research opportunities. In the letter or email you can refer to the conversation you had by telephone and explain your motives for applying for an internship at that specific organization. You can discuss a research subject, the length of the internship and your added value for the organization.
Another way to find an internship is via an agency. There are several agencies that can have a large internship database, for example:
- AIESEC (for international internships)
- Integrand
- Stagemotor
- Studentenbureau
And of course the easiest way to find an internship is via your personal contacts. Tell your friends and family you are looking for an internship, if you’re lucky they help you find one!
Thesis
To finish the bachelor programme, you will have to write a bachelor’s thesis. The bachelor’s thesis is a concise version of the Master’s thesis, but you don’t necessarily have to write about a topic of your master choice. The subject of your thesis can be anything that is related to the courses in your bachelor programme. In the thesis manual you can find all the information that is important for the thesis.
Please take into account the following criteria on admission to the bachelor’s thesis:
- At the moment you register for the thesis, you have at least 120 credits
- You passed the courses Statistics II ( SPSS) and Quantitative Business Analysis
