I would like to draw your attention to the following
good news.
As you will recall, in the past, our NECTAR Chairs have received the prestigious award of Regional Science Association International (RSAI)-Fellow. Our first Chair, Peter Nijkamp received it in 2004, and our second Chair, Piet Rietveld, in 2009.
Now, in the year 2010, our third Chair, Aura Reggiani, and our Vice-Chair, Erik Verhoef have each also received this award (see also: http://www.rsai.org/ )! Please, note that Aura is the 1st Italian RSAI-Fellow, as well as the 1st European female!
This is undoubtedly a sign of great academic recognition from the RSAI, not only to our past and current NECTAR leaders, but also to NECTAR in general ;-).
I wish therefore to congratulate Aura and Erik on winning the special RSAI-Fellow awards, as well as to thank them for their efforts in making NECTAR visible all over the world!
