Brief resumé

Claartje Vinkenburg is associate professor of Organizational Behavior (since 2008) and managing director of the Amsterdam Center for Career Research (ACCR) at VU University Amsterdam. She studied Social Psychology at the University of Groningen. In 2000-2001, she was a visiting scholar and adjunct lecturer at Northwestern University (USA). She is a visiting professor with the Future of Work Chair at ESADE Business School in Barcelona and spent a sabbatical leave there in 2011. Claartje's research, partly funded by the European Research Council, deals with gender and ethnic diversity in professional and academic careers, critically exploring the impact of implicit bias, normative beliefs, and discursive practices on selection and promotion processes, career patterns and outcomes. From 2004 to 2010, Claartje was programme director for the International Business Administration BSc programme. She is chair of the Programme Committee for the MSc Business Administration and is responsible for courses on Professional Skills (BSc), Leading diversity in Organizations (MSc HRM), as well PhD, MSc, and BSc thesis supervision. Claartje Vinkenburg is the author and editor of various academic and professional publications.
