What our students are saying about us
To the further benefit of the UNIGIS programme, some of our
students and alumni have been known to offer their assistance and
extensive professional experience for the purpose of demonstrating
practical application of GIS at UNIGIS events outside of the
programme described in the course syllabus. The international
community of students is supported by an annual professional
updating conference, and Web-based discussion lists offer the
opportunity to communicate with the world-wide community of UNIGIS
staff and students.
Of our current students 85% live in the Netherlands and 15% come
from other countries, such as Bolivia, Indonesia, South Africa etc.
In the recent past we have had students from Iceland, Syria, Siberia
and other far away countries that in terms of distance learning are
just as close as the Netherlands.
